Rapid injection molding (RIM) is a manufacturing technique that uses plasticized material injected under high pressure into a closed mold cavity at temperatures above its glass transition temperature. RIM is a rapid prototyping method that can produce parts in complex shapes and various of sizes. It is an additive manufacturing technology that creates three-dimensional objects using a computer model. These models are created using a CAD software program and then sliced into layers.
